Not sure where you got any of this from. The trends for the last 20 years has been city of Atlanta getting more white and Asian residents and the suburbs have been getting all the black people who can’t afford to live in the city anymore. The city is getting whiter while the suburbs are getting blacker. That isn’t going to change anytime soon. The suburbs of Atlanta are becoming cesspools by the year. Look to Cobb and Gwinnett as examples. Both are getting worse by the year.

Is a nice damn area. About 15 mins.NE of Downtown, right inside DeKalb County from Buckhead and the Atlanta City Limits . I would describe it as upper middle class.
There are far worse areas of the metro area that I would expect something like this to happen. Not Brookha.

Brookhaven has some nice older neighborhoods and also plenty of run down crime infested apartments along buford hwy. mostly illegal immigrants.

Technicality - Brookhaven was just a neighborhood/community and actually was officially Atlanta proper until several years ago when they broke off to form their own city. Their temporary city hall was in a shitty old office park behind a strip club, next to my office.

Buckhead is trying to secede for this reason. The city trying to stop it because all the tax money and none of the protection goes to Buckhead.

Atlanta is safer than all of these cities and is damn sure nicer than NY, Chicago, & NOLA(LOL). The only city that is probably nicer in terms of natural scenery/beauty is LA. But Atlanta is one of the most naturally beautiful big cities in the country between the hills, trees, and all around greenness.
I also wouldn't trade living here for the cost of living, affordability, quality of schools, weather, etc.w/many other places in the country.

Eh, I agree w/all of this except Cobb. Aside from S.Cobb(Austell Hwy.corrider) , the rest of Cobb is fine. My wife is from Kennesaw(Harrison HS c/o '98) and it's nothing but 400-500K homes everywhere.
