Good thing this won’t be a Gustav or an Andrew because it would absolutely butt fudge Baton Rouge.

Rather take a small hit in June instead of a Gustav or Katrina in late August.

This season is gonna be a whopper.

In 2005 Tropical Storm Cindy (later upgraded to a hurricane) made landfall in Louisiana in early July and popped New Orleans then we got Katrina and Rita in August and September.

Unfortunately, NOAA is predicting an above average season so this may just be the beginning of a long hurricane season.

with the way recent history has gone these storms love targeting louisiana the past 3 years and quite frankly, that luck has to run out since all of them could've been much worse

They’ve said that every year for the past 15 years. There are only so many times you can cry wolf.

The grant and research checks don’t write themselves. You should know that better than most.

True

Will never forget after the 2005 season the climate experts said “this is the new normal.”

Huh. Sounds kinda like Covid

Intensity could still be a little tricky but nothing crazy.

yeah... Levi said there's a slight chance it could make a run to hurricane strength... but it would need an extra 12 hours over water to do so than what's projected currently

2004 was bad then 2005 was the worst ever so the media was stroking themselves over it. Then 2006 turned out to be a total nothingburger season.

Dry air is giving it the business. It looks like arse warmed over on IR.

What storm produced the “dry air” meme on the OT? That was a classic.

How many years were there two named storms prior to the official start of the season then a third on June 1st?

Nola has been so lucky the last few years with hurricanes. But we do get arse fricked by malfunctioning pumps and summer showers.
