I don’t know why so many people feel this way. Do you people not enjoy summer activities like swimming, the beach, the lake, etc.?

I enjoy all of those things. I do not enjoy all of those things when it is 95 degrees

I can do all of this when it is 75-85 degrees

GFS still has a storm in the gulf but meandering more towards Florida.

Euro still nothing 10 days out

CMC has a development but more in the western Gulf

those weak storms always bring more rain to the east (and sometimes well east) of landfall

1 of the hardest constant rains I can remember in NOLA was from a tropical storm making landfall in Texas a number of years ago

that was probably TS Allison. Hit Houston Galveston Area and then kinda meandered around moving over Louisiana and dumping a ton of rain. Flooded a whole lot of shite all over South Louisiana

According to the Weather Prediction Center 168 hour 500 mb forecast, a strong upper-level ridge ~ 5900 meters is expected to be parked over Arkansas to northern Mexico with axis covering southeast US. I don’t see how any TC will have a track toward the central Gulf coast.

Unless any TC takes longer to form beyond 180 hours +

I wanted to say Allison but I wasn't 100% sure

The OT circle jerk is gonna rapidly pick up here when y’all see the end of the latest GFS run. My phone isn’t letting me post the pic so maybe someone else can but I’ll say this: if the latest run becomes consistent then buttholes will pucker up.

Don’t worry, the timeframe has been pushed back to the 12th now. Once that starts happening you might as well throw the whole model into the garbage.

The model is anticipating this forming from remnants of a Pacific system that crosses into the northwestern Caribbean, which is rare. Adding to the uncertainty is the model's bipolar opinions on what the steering currents will be like if and when that occurs.

Just about every single piece of this puzzle is unknown right now and is being assumed by the model. Until something actually exists with a center of circulation, the model is simply guessing.

Oh S, you know that supertanker you converted into a luxury yacht will ride this out just fine.

Unless I’m mistaken, this has only happened 5 times since they started keeping records.

I tweeted the last projection image to the local weather guys, here's Steve from WAFB's response

Initial thoughts? NEVER give a 384 forecast like that much weight. However, there have been signals that *something* may develop anywhere from the E. Pacific to near the Yucatan by mid/late next week. We're keeping an eye on it, but I'm not losing any sleep.
