Wasn't Laura Shreveport's first-ever hurricane hit? They are usually a TS by the time they get there

Hell I think it was a tropical storm when it passed Little Rock if I remember correctly

No one will ever convince me that this is not a HAARP operation.

At this rate, "H" will be just fine compared to the "M" fears.

I heard they have dinner reservations at one of the steak houses in Johnson Bayou.

Once they make this a potential tropical cyclone and give us a track coming right up the poop chute this thread will explode.

That's the exact opposite of what you want the 200 mb level to look like. Got a bit of a jet venting all the way to the Pacific, nice anticyclone overhead (divergence at the top vents the storm as well and very light shear). There is a little bit of a PV streamer out ahead when it gets in the gulf on the GFS (rds showed it in an excellent post near the start of the thread) but it's organized enough to crush it with outflow and hit the sweet spot for rapid strengthening.

This is why I'm so worried if it ends up hitting a Louisiana path.

Duke, do you think the picture will be more clear once the Hurricane Hunters fly in?
