Happy first day of Fall everyone! Hopefully a few cool fronts in the near future to at least drop the temps by a few degrees and lower the humidity.

Wtf did I get downvoted? You idiots don't want cool fronts (not you Cosmo unless you're one too) . They are currently showing up in model runs. This board is odd.

It's the first day of meteorological Fall, the models are showing fronts in the coming weeks, it's time. That's a positive thing, nothing more.

And I'm sweating my balls off with everyone else today, about to start working at a distribution area in Terrebonne today, Lafourche tomorrow. Downvoters can downvote away.

Switch to the 2m temp model of GFS

Shows highs in 80s and lows mid 60s

More of a cool front than cold front

Yeah it would drop the humidity and a few degrees cooler, nothing dramatic yet though.

Agree. Last year, Delta was the most western landfall for an October Hurricane in Louisiana since the late 1800s. Once October rolls around, most of the landfalls are further east. October landfalls in Texas are almost unheard of. Unfortunately, we have another 30 days until October.

Called my brother around 5ish I guess during. Sounded like a freight train outside his house. He was asking when the eye would pass over so they could get a break. The last radar he was able to see had the eye passing over them. Had to tell him he wasn’t even halfway thru yet and there would be no eye for him
woah... sounds awful. Where's your brother live, Houma?

The great unknown in September and October is the placement of those fronts because they steer these systems typically NE. We're getting closer though.

BTW for anyone coming down here, traffic is a shite show. Way too many people sightseeing and roaming around with nothing to do. Keep your head on a swivel if you're driving down.

Oh and most of the Rouses are opened until 5pm if you're looking for supplies and food. The only negative is that it's cash only.
