CNN has some video of Daytona Beach and it's pretty flooded. The areas above Daytona are a lot lower than that area. Flagler, Palm Coast, Crescent Beach and St Augustine Beach are getting hit now.

The water is going over the seawall near the fort. Water filling the streets it will be flooded within the next 2 hours. Reporter standing in a foot of water already

Areas of SC & NC could see upwards of 20" of rain even though the system mostly stays offshore. A frontal boundary to the north combined with deep onshore flow will help concentrate heavy rain to the left of the track.

Per weather channel the eye wall is inching closer to shore. Storm is back up to a strong Cat 3. 120 sustained winds.
This storm is a beast.

I figures water would really push into the bay. That is a really big opening to the Atlantic in front of St Augustine.

I saw from the radar that the eye is drifting towards land. NOT good

What's the likelihood if this thing stays on the current projected path and makes the big loop it will be a significant threat to Gulf states like Louisiana? This thing is making me nervous. I really hope those tracks change.

Drudge is making it sound like this storm isn't a big deal and the datA is being overblown. What's the deal?

Here's a Cam of the inter-coastal at Marineland/Palm Coast. Really skinny strip of sand along the A-1A

yeah from what i can tell i can hardly see much hurricane force winds actually on land.
Posted on 10/7/16 at 10:53 am to Chad504boy
Apparently it's a legit accusation. The reported winds by the NWC and the Weather Channel are no where near the actual recorded winds. Starting to make national news.
Is that true?
