If they really want to punish him, they should just release him to his dad.

BTW...there is no cockpit door like you are suggesting....all he had to do was open the fuselage door and climb right into the cockpit
Okay, fair enough. But all that does is change the specifics of the point at which he gain unauthorized access to the plane.
Instead of the cockpit, let’s say fuselage. Unless he had a legitimate reason for being in the fuselage at that time*, he would be most definitely be breaking some sort of federal regulation for authorized personnel on board aircraft.
*I understand, as an employee of the airport, he could have legitimate reasons to be on board the plane from time to time. But the question is “did he have authorization to be on it this morning?” and “did he abuse his security access privileges as an airport employee to do so?”

I just heard the kid may have killed 2 people early this morning in a night club but not sure if there’s anything to that rumor

No one is disputing the fact that he stole the plane....but he didnt hijack it

Per the Tupelo newspaper he was not an employee of the Tupelo airport, but of a FBO (fixed based operator) who contracted space there.

That reporter from WTVA looks like the prototypical deusch reporter with his face full of makeup…

So he probably worked for Southeast Aviation LLC
The owner of the plane

If that were true then wouldnt you think they would have shot down the plane?

Anyone worthy of knowing what FBOs are doesn’t need FBO spelled out for us.

Judging by his fb pics, he's probably FBO personnel. They do have access to the aircraft incase of emergency or needing to move aircraft around. It's normal. Dude prob had the key and just said frick it

hmm..he stole a plane for starters
We don't even hold car jackers, drug dealers or robbers in jail. How could they hold him?
