There are tons of books that are not on the shelf in every school library, DUH.
My kids school banned 100s of books a few years ago. They went to a digital library and only kept the most checked out books for the few years before they repurposed the room

Drama King, show me the list of books banned and the actual order that banned them statewide.
Just because a book sucks does not mean it is banned.

Some 80% of those bans originated in just three states that have enacted or attempted to enact laws calling for removal of books deemed objectionable — Florida, Texas and Tennessee
Not big on trends?

Some books should not be in schools but that also doesn’t mean children shouldn’t have access to them at all, it just means the schools shouldn’t be the ones allowing access to them. If a parent wants to buy his whole catalogue for their children then so be it
Also, there are a bunch of books that school libraries don’t carry. Doesn’t inherently mean they are banned it just means there is no real necessity to have them there.

Did he care when 'To Kill a Mockingbird' was banned by the liberals for it being "racist"? Doubt it

In what world should It, Shining, Rage, Pet Semetary, Carrie, etc. be in a school library?
I’m not decrying their existence. Despite his beliefs, he’s an iconic American author.
Blood Meridian, Lolita, Game of Thrones, etc. shouldn’t be in a school library either.

You clearly haven't read much of King's works if you think racist text (real or perceived) would bother him

So he writes disturbing adult content and gets upset by this material not being made available in school libraries...
Did nobody explain the concept of "age appropriate" to this guy?

No I have. There is a lot of N word mentions thrown around casually like it's normal

I've read at least 20 of his books. So many are just way too long. But be can set up great stories he just is a bad finisher.
Gunslinger series, is a case in point. Left unfinished for years, when he finally picked it back up, it was much weaker writing.
Don't get me started on what they did with the movie.

They destroy lots of his books on film. Some of it is his fault. He's terrible at endings.

I figured IT would be on the lost because of that ridiculous part towards the end. Great book other than that part, which was completely unneeded. He should have been put on some kind of list after writing that book.

The closing of the American Mind by Alan Bloom was written in the 80s. It’s a masterpiece with a predictive value of 92.
I can’t believe they haven’t banned 1984 and Fahrenheit 451, or have they?
We aren’t a country of men and women we are a flock of sheep blindly and happily walking to the butcher shop

I love the idea that not allowing something to be in a school library is "banning" it.
Posted on 10/2/25 at 3:37 pm to Shexter
Its like he's missing the entire point of why certain books are being removed from school libraries.
If a young kid is going to the public library or a bookstore, they are most likely being taken there by a parent who can decide whether the book their kid wants to read has content that they object to or deem not age appropriate. In the school library, the parent doesn't have that ability to be present to approve or disapprove of the books their kids check out.

He's turned into a real pantywaist Karen.
His books have a lot sex, foul language, and adult themes.
He needs to stop being a victim and go play music with Dave Barry.

I keep it in a jar under my bed.

Im gonna call BS on this one. They're banning books at school for letting the reader know the race of a character?
No way. This is a liberal scare tactic aimed at dumb parents. Kinda like the satanic panic where media tried to convince parents of teens that there were roving groups of devil worshippers in every small town sacrificing puppies and toddlers.
