It’s such a third world look for the state. As soon as you cross the state line, there are usually 4-5 troopers or deputies between one end of Calcasieu and the other.

Yep. While I dislike SO many things about my great state of MA, this ain’t one of em. It’s so nice not having to worry about going 5 over or even 8 over.

My family and I drove from N.LA over to Chattanooga a couple years ago and between the LA state line and Chattanooga saw ONE cop running speed trap. To AND from. Sure, we may have simply missed some here and there, cop getting coffee or something at the time of passing through. But on the way back, from the time we hit LA on I-20....no less than 5 LSP speed traps between Miss River and Ruston.

In fairness, a Lot of that is drug interdiction.


My issue isn’t them writing tickets or the cars they drive. It’s that they could be more proactive at ticketing other violations- like traveling in the left lane or lane violations on places like the basin bridge.
