Meanwhile, the new CEO walked away from his previous job leaving the company in a shambles. Laffy's economic prosperity seems to be accidental-it's sure not a result of the practices of its leading businessmen. LINK

Although a chuckled at the humor in your post, truth be known to those who read this board that the Knight family has been VERY generous to the Catholic Church, local Catholic schools, the Evangeline Area Boy Scouts, just to name a few.

Well, you can add Lafayette Metro Narcotics Task Force and Louisiana State Troopers to that list now.

Knight, Moreno, Rucks, Trotter, Moody, etc all run in the same circles

Yea, I was just talking to a friend about this who knows him and she said he's a 55 year old drug addict (cocaine for sure, possibly other drugs).
And he lives at home with his mom.....
He obviously got screwed over here, but from what she tells me he is definitely not all there......
ETA: These are not necessarily facts, just what I heard from someone who knows him.

Clearly that's why the brother thought he could get away with it. The whole thing would seem plausible on the surface. If the guy being framed was an upstanding citizen, nobody would believe it.

I'm sure he thought he was too powerful for this to ever reach him

Is Moreno broke or did he just loose some big bucks on a few bad investments?

they built a business on frac pumpers fueled on location by field gas and they had problems with them. So they lost their market share, the business started to falter, they couldnt meet their debt load, Moreno recognized they probably weren't going to recover so he and his buddies gutted the financial side of the business and left the assets for chapter 11.

Just reading here, but how could he think it wouldn't reach him?
You sure he's not just dumb?

From what I've heard about Bryan, I don't know why Mark would have to plant drugs on him for him to get caught.

the irony is they probably got too cute and should have just thrown a bag of coke under the car seat. The magnetic boxes and all of the plotting is what got them busted.

Moreno has so many people suing him he doesn't know which way to look

I had to go to a house on Clipper Cove last week in Laffy. That's a nice neighborhood. Nice places and hot trophy wives everywhere.

Yea but they were still nice places. I got the feeling it was a lot of older money around there and not the $60K millionaires.

It was horrible and I had a 14' cargo trailer with me during lunch traffic which made it 100 times worse.
