Nah that's not a big old money neighborhood, lots of doctors and attorneys

OK

I figured there were probably better neighborhoods around considering the size of Laffy. Don't know much about Laffy but in Lake Charles that would be up there neighborhood wise which is sad.

around 1985 The Settlement was the spot for young Upper Middle Class professionals. Bendel Gardens was the old money neighborhood back then (and still is today).

I haven't had to go into River Ranch yet but have driven by it often. I need to drive around it next time I am there. We have been getting a lot more work over there now so I have been going to help my crews get caught up some. We get more ghetto houses in every other town we work in but in Laffy we get more mid class to higher end houses. I can only recall a handful of really bad houses we work on South of town towards Abbeville.

I find it interesting because you can be driving in the middle of BFE outside of Lafayette with rice fields everywhere and all of a sudden a new 200 house subdivision pops up.

Bendel Gardens

Where is this located?

I really liked the private lakes at The Settlement.

Bendel connects Pinhook and south college. It's a small neighborhood off there on river.

Word

Our house is older and doesn't have all the bells and whistles that the cookie cutters in youngsville have, but damn if it isn't a helluva location

Have you heard the stories about Mark and the gate at the front of his neighborhood? Bizarre stuff.

I know of at least two small high end neighborhoods populated by wealthy movers and shakers who get in cat fights with each other over their fancy keypad access gate.

One more hijack

I put ads needing help from Texas to Alabama for contractors and have had a crapload of calls in oil towns like Laffy of people looking for work. I have almost all I need after one weekend.

Most of what I'm seeing cut is really low end positions...guys that were a warm body and nothing more. Then high end guys who planned to retire in the next 5 are getting packages to go early.
