Perhaps he’s subtly bragging on an $800,000 house with a 5% deductible?

So he has an 800k house but can’t read a dec page or shop around?

All state is the same. I believe it is state wide

I’m not sure how you could live in Louisiana and not know your hurricane deductible.

When i built my house, they were trying to put a 10K hurricane deductible..I went with a different insurance company for only 1500. State Farm is a RIP off

State Farm Hurricane Deductible
A few years ago my State Farm agent called me with an option to pay about a $1000 one time fee to keep my hurricane deductible at 2%. If I declined to pay then it would go to 5% for hurricanes. I paid the fee and kept it at 2%.

Well your post is factually inaccurate. A hurricane deductible can be chosen or you can have an all peril deductible. 1% and 2% is standard amongst pretty much all companies. Why would people not look at their policy to see the deductible THEY selected.

I’m fine with a 10k deductible if it saves on my premium.

Bet you went with the cheapest option.

I have Bankers Insurance, they suck, but still have a $1,000 named storm deductible

State Farm has the deductible clearly stated on their policies. But, many do not read them.
Hey State Farm!!

His house manager hasn't heard the last of him, i tell ya that!

All policies clearly have the deductible on the dec page

Thought that was every insurance company post Katrina. I don’t have state farm or Allstate and I’ve always had a 5% hurricane deductible

Well God bless any of you who lost your homes or have damage from the hurricane. It sucks. I lost everything in the 2016 flood and of course didn't have flood insurance. Prayers to all of you.

I think it's a case of people wanting the flashy name brand

I thought Louisiana just passed tort reform so that insurance companies had more money and had to lower deductibles and premiums.
