Most of the people I've dealt with don't want to talk to the stuff or reason with it. They just want it gone. Can't say as I blame them.

One too many movies for this one
No.
I lived in a house that was haunted. 3 different people died there, and about 5 years before we lived there the tenants that lived there held seances and "opened the door" between the spirit world and ours. They did this in the attic (this is all reported, I didn't see it with my own eyes obv). After the hauntings got more violent and unbearable, they had a priest come in and exorcise the house and re-bless it. Then they sealed off the attic and removed the stairs that went up to it. Still had some stuff happen.
The worst and most scary thing that happened to me was I had things tossed at me while I was the only one home. I was a skeptic at the time, didn't believe in ghosts or an afterlife or anything, atheist. I was sitting in a chair watching TV and the first thing that flew off the fireplace mantle was a polaroid picture of my stepdad and his neice. I shrugged it off as a draft or something and put it back where it was. About 2 minutes later, the top half of a 2-piece fake flower display hopped off of the mantle and landed at my feet. Again, I was like "meh, whatever" and put it back where it was. About a minute later, the whole flower display hopped off the mantle and landed on my lap (a good 3 feet away from the mantle). At that point I ran off to bed. I was scared shitless.

Glad I can amuse you dude. I'm usually on the Rant but it seemed like I could actually contribute to this thread. For better or worse.

i would have moved out the first time i saw a man standing in my apt that wasn't really a man.
Although I don't believe in such stuff, I don't get how people stick around for even a night if they 'think' they see a ghost or spirit. i am the fu** out of there.

my cool ghost story
So my dad used to coach high school basketball back in the 70s and one season a kid on the JV died in car wreck skipping school one day (in that year's team picture there is actually a glare right behind his head, I've seen that myself). After that happened he swore the school and gym became haunted. He used to tell me stories about it but the one that freaked him out the most was one night he was in his office in the locker room (the locker rooms were actually below the gym, you had to take a set of stairs to get up and down between them). So that night happened to fall over winter break, so the school was completely locked up for the week, I'm talking like locks and chains around the doors to keep kids out. The only door not chained up was the one that went straight to the locker room, and my dad had the only key. During the break the school decided to have the gym floor waxed since no kids would be around. So my dad is sitting in the office one night and starts to hear a basketball dribble up on the court (he said this happened a lot) and so he starts to walk up the stairs to the gym, hearing the ball bouncing the whole time. As he gets to the top of the stairs the ball has stopped bouncing and is rolling across the floor. My dad also notices there is a random set of foot prints in the wax that have gone across the floor but didn't lead anywhere. My dad was so freaked out got in his car and left.

I used to hear shite all the time when I was in bed trying to go to sleep. It all went away when I stopped worrying about it and fearing it.
