I grind beans and store in an air tight container. It gets drank within a couple weeks though
It is a dirty process but I think it tastes much better. I don’t mind a shot of whole milk in my coffee. Can’t do creamer. Make espressos at lunch sometimes or even switch to lattes in the morning. Have a great machine for this so I switch it up from time to time.

I've recently started drinking coffee and am drinking it with a small amount of creamer and 2 sweet n low. I haven't been drinking it long enough to know the difference b/t good coffee beans and bad coffee beans. As it stands, i'm buying Dunkin Donuts coffee beans and grinding them myself and it does the trick. I'd like to drink it black but the taste is way too bitter for me to even acquire the taste.
Anyone have suggestions on good coffee beans that I can try?
Also, how much coffee grounds do you brew? I've been told to put 1/2 the amount of water in scoops. Meaning, if i'm making 8 cups, i'm putting 4 scoops in. No idea if this is right or not.

Caring about how people drink their coffee and then changing how you drink yours to feel superior is a pretty soy boy move tbh.
I drink coffee all kinds of ways. I make my own cold brew and usually put creamer and sweetener in it because I like sweet cold coffee, then have a cup of black hot coffee with my wife.

creamer
I didn't realize so many people use this stuff. Why not just use heavy cream?

Find local roasters, find whole bean coffee that is fresh (1 month or less old), get a burr grinder, and make drip coffee with medium sized grounds. Other brew methods can make better coffee but for most people it's not that big a deal. Quality of the bean and Burr grinder make the biggest impact.
My favorite is ethiopian, generally speaking, because it's often less bitter and often has fruity notes.

I usually use half and half and just call it creamer because.. habits.
I do also use the liquid italian sweet cream creamer, too.

We use one of these bad boys to make our coffee in the AM. The best.

As far as whole beans, I’ve heard to get local beans as previously mentioned. I tried that with Reve and while I appreciated the freshness, the flavor of the roast just wasn’t for me. I might not be ready for that boldness yet

I’m unashamed to say the International Delight Cold Stone flavor is incredible. With you thinking I’m gay.

Has anyone in here tried making their own cold brew and comparing it to one of the cold brews you can buy in the store? I always liked that Cool Brew brand of ice coffee back when I drank coffee with milk and sugar.
This will be my first summer of black coffee, so I’m thinking I need to get into the cold brew game

They recommended 18-24 hours. In your experience are they full of it?
Overnight seemed fine. 24 hours probably a bit better if I have any left.

Omg the best ice cream I might have ever had was the Café Au Lait flavor at Creole Creamery in Uptown New Orleans

One cup a day, a splash of light cream, a splash of Torani caramel, hazelnut or vanilla syrup, half a teaspoon of sugar.

It's good but I don't use great beans for it since I load it up with cream anyway. I only make my own because I do half caff to keep caffeine intake lower and it's cheaper than getting half caff espressos iced.
Don't put it in the fridge. Leave it on the counter. Doesn't steep nearly as well if it's in the fridge. I do 24 hours on the counter to make a concentrate then add about 25% water after I take the grounds out.

I can’t imagine purposefully lowering my caffeine level. I am pretty sure I’m addicted to caffeine at this point
I barely drank coffee before becoming a parent, and now my morning cup is a requirement lol

I'm sensitive to caffeine, and I get addicted and spiral if I'm not careful. It affects my sleep, so it's a self-perpetuating cycle of tired, need caffeine, tired again, need more caffeine, more tired, etc. I've gone as high as taking in ~800mg/day in the past. I try to do no more than ~120-150/day now. Less is more in my case.
