It's common knowledge that while not completely effective non N95 masks do cut-down on the spread but sure man whatever you say

Is common knowledge better or worse than a Stanford hypothesis?

Masks are not natural and are screwing with little kids’ heads by not seeing smiles and other facial expressions. This has gotten so out of control that it’s insanity. Masking should be a personal choice if it makes someone feel better but not mandatory.

I really think that all of this insanity is on purpose, meant to make is feel like we can't understand life and the world anymore.

I don't know how anyone trusts anything anymore that they haven't figured out themselves or been told by someone they know personally.

I’ve sneezed in the mask before and I put my hand in front of my mask and could feel the sneeze go right through the mask. If a ton of drops from a sneeze can go right through the mask, a microscopic virus would not be stopped one iota from passing right through.

Unless you’re wearing some sort of special mask, the cloth masks people wear are useless. I think it’s more important to social distance, wash your hands, and avoid touching your face.

I thought the CDC came out and said that there's only a 1/10,000 chance you could get COVID from touching a surface. I can't keep up with all the bullshite anymore.

No, I admitted it's 1 data point. Which if we're being honest is about as valuable as a 25 person study.

And that guy is me. I get massive headaches and quite obviously have C02 increase when wearing masks.

So, to me, all of these people claiming masks have no ill-effects on our health are completely opposite of my experience.

So excuse me if I think the 25 person scientific "studies"(lol) are bullshite.

Dawg fan just can’t take it when science legitimizes what we’ve been saying all along.... not to mention the several other studies before COVID that reached the same conclusion about the ineffectiveness of cloth masks. But he’ll die on the myth sword before he’ll admit he’s wrong.

You’re wasting your time on this guy. Politics>science. Oh the irony.

frick off, look in the mirror.

I get splitting headaches and increased CO2 blood levels wearing masks.

But it's my politics that have shaped my views on masks and their impact to our health right?

Honest question:

Are the health consequences the same for health care workers who have always had to wear them for work? If not, why

OP, appreciate the links.

The “study” is published in Medical Hypothesis. The journal itself states:

“The purpose of Medical Hypotheses is to publish interesting theoretical papers. The journal will consider radical, speculative and non-mainstream scientific ideas provided they are coherently expressed.“

The authoritative peer reviewed clinical study on mask wearing concluded the practice significantly mitigates community spread with virtually no secondary health consequences.

It is a garbage "study." I'm no huge mask proponent, but stuff like this will only lead our side to be readily dismissed.

Exactly. I read enough of the study to know that it's a joke really. "Stanford study" is straight up false. And the journal Medical Hypotheses will publish anything.

That's an opinion and debatable.

I'd say the results are significant in showing that there IS an impact and anyone buying the media narrative that masks have zero impact on our health are full of shite.

Do you agree with the “study” that masks can lead to diabetes?

I'm guessing that not a single one of you read the study. (including me - I'll read the whole thing in a couple of weeks when works lows down). But I can already see serious problems in the hypothesis. The researchers are downplaying the seriousness of covid, and in one part they state:

quote:

This was confirmed by the head of National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases from US stating, “the overall clinical consequences of COVID-19 are similar to those of severe seasonal influenza” [5], having a case fatality rate of approximately 0.1%

The source they use to support this comes from a quote from Fauci that was made in MARCH OF 2020 - no study, no data, etc. Just a throw-away quote from the early days of the pandemic. This statement hardly qualifies as "evidence." There is no other "evidence" given to support the statement, in spite of the fact that reams of data regarding the actual CFR have been gathered since then.

How many people you see wearing a n95 mask. Not many ,but they don't work either. Any virus is much smaller than what the mask can stop. Its like pouring water in a pot with holes in it and thinking it will stop water from leaking out. You mask people are just plain dumb. There's no other way to put it.

Until Greta Thunberg offers her opinion, I will withhold judgment.

OK, her or Dr. Jill.

BTW - I typed this while quadrupled masked with gloved hands in my sterile anti-COVID chamber. Can't be too cautious, ya know.

We need studies like this because some people just don’t have the common sense to know that rinky dink cloth masks do absolutely nothing.

Yeah I mean common sense says it’s not normal to have a mask on for a year in public, this is probably going to mess with a lot of people’s heads?
