"what, we're not good enough for you, that you have to go out with a white boy?". He was treated horribly because she dated him. That was a big reason they ended up breaking up too.
It sounds like your "friends" were too insecure in the relationship to begin with. Also, who or where were the hanging with that they were treated so badly?
Why would you they let the opinions of strangers, ignorant strangers at that, be a deterrent to them.
The thing that pisses me off about these anecdotes, is that people focus in on bad incidents and let it speak for the greater whole.
Nobody ever mentions their friend who dated a black chick, and the times nobody gave a single frick.
We have all passed interracial couples thousands and thousands of times, and nobody said shite to them. Nobody thought shite about it.
There will always be ignorance, on every side. It will never be completely eradicated, but let us not pretend like we are still living in the 1960's.
Interracial couples on the rise all across the board in this country, but if I was to listen to the news or these stories I would think otherwise.

Im curious, where the heck did you get this list from? Sure Hispanic chicks might be crazier, but damn, that coupled with their natural curves/beauty clearly places them miles above flat Stanley Asians.

I have a story about a white friend of mine, who is a girl, that was dating another friend. I set them up and they seemed like a good match but things didn't work out.
Well she tells me stories of how when she goes out with white guys now and they find out she's dated a black guy they get really squrilly about it. She's had to walk out on a couple of guys bc of the remarks that were made. Hell you see it on here as well. If a white woman has dated a black guy, then she's considered damaged goods. I wonder why that is?

Since we are sharing stories, I have one to share.
My uncle, a black man, in the late 1980's met a white woman who was recently divorced with two very young white kids (girls).
They were eventually married, and even though they never had kids together, he raised those two little white girls into women, who now have families of their own (they are married to white men just in case anyone is curious).
They are still married to this day, and traveling the world and enjoying life.
I have a friend of mine who dated a white girl when we in high school all the way through. To be honest, from time to time some of the more ignorant trash black girls would harass her because they were jealous. His mom, would try to bring other black girls around to break them up, and her dad hated my friend.
Through it all they kept going, got married, and started a family. They are easily the most successful ones on either side of their families. Her father, wanting to be a part of his daughter's life and his grandchildren's life came around and opened his heart. He even calls my friend son now, and they go fishing and do a lot together. His mother is better, but still a bitch to the wife.
Just wanted to add some success stories, to all of the negative ones.

Insecurity.
It is the same on both sides of the fence to be fair.
People who are insecure need some way to justify their inadequacies to themselves.

Possibly.

Sometimes a relationship needs to just be easy. When you're walking down the street in GA and getting screamed at/followed or when you're at a party and other black men are getting up in your face there might be a time when you just say "this isn't worth dealing with for the rest of my life". It might be seen as immature but that was the decision they both made. This is why you tend to flock to people who are similar to you. It's easier and there are typically less issues.

It is hard to support a list like this. A thing like attraction is so subjective.
Personally I would go:
Hispanic
Black
White
Asian

Haha Thank you! No way Hispanics rank below Asians on the hot/beauty scale.

I understand what you are saying, I really do. However, with all due respect, I think that is a coward's way out.
I would never let outsiders determine the way I live my life and anyone who does, in my opinion, is a fool and a coward.
Maybe it matters where you are, I have no doubt there are still many backwards places, but I have never seen this type hatred toward interracial couples personally when they were out and about.

can't speak for the issue as a whole, but for the couple in Berkeley, the black/white combination is probably the least socially acceptable of the interracial pairings, especially if it's a black man and a white woman.
The AP disproves that point. it's kind of funny to see these old white men who look like retired Klansmen doting on their mocha grandbabies. It's actually refreshing and neat to see rather than funny.

Black women were subjected to being raped by their slave masters, then had to be separated from their children, then watched their children be denied, all while taking care of the masters children. There has to be a lingering adversion there for black women.
Every color has a history of being slaves. If you don't think white folks have a history of being in slavery then go read some history books. I work with older black guys at my main job and have a few older black men and women that are repeat customers of mine for my side job, one I used to drink coffee with in the mornings. Most all of them can't stand seeing all the racist talk on the media and hate all these younger blacks that holler racism on everything.
I'm only pointing out to you that blacks are not the only race that has been in slavery. I'm also pointing out to everyone else that the many, many blacks are tired of all the racism talk just like we are. One of my coworkers last football season, who is black and we were watching news and he compared it to Katrina talk with the Saints. He said he understood all the media coverage at first and just like Katrina coverage being associated with the Saints, but damn, overtime it gets shoved in your face and blown out of proportion, over dramatized and he was sick of it like everyone else.

I'll be honest and say I wasn't always a fan of interracial relationships.
I went to public school and attended an HBCU for college. There weren't many white girls to be attracted to, in addition to that I had several different types of black women to select from while in college.
On the other hand my little brothers went to Catholic schools and majority white colleges. They've dated white, black, Asian, and Hispanic girls, and don't really choose the women they date based on skin color.
Different exposure results in different preference in all things, dating not excluded.

I was born native American Indian but I feel a persecuted black man inside. Shouldn't the media cover me?

Why is that funny?

I also know blacks aren't the only ones to have been slaves but we live in a relative world-- our concerns mostly don't travel past our neighborhoods, and their furthest extent is our nation's borders.

Also, thanks for the success stories. There are definitely more than reported. I do know of some horrible stories though and it's as bad as it gets. For some couples, it's still bad in 2015. There are definitely some real bigoted people still out there, but they are the types that are okay with everything until they personally have to deal with it (one of their kids). They basically closeted their hatred.
