Looks like the polished concrete as mentioned above wouldnt be too terribly difficult. Do some youtubing. Probably pretty expensive to rent equipment, but way cheaper than having it done professionally.

You'll have to do a concrete overlay. You should be looking around $4-5 sqft. Check out www.squarefootdesignla.com
I've heard a lot of decorative concrete companies are gouging the hell out of people. Charging upwards to $7 sq ft. It's pretty screwed up giving the circumstances. Squarefoot design is not raising their prices.

if you want something extremely nice go with dan lynch as linked above. if something simple, do it yourself.

We did our entire house with concrete floors. Best decision we ever made.
