She's not my friend, and to be honest I don't give a shite that she wrote that. I don't agree with it but I'm not going to go around bashing the girl. She comes from a good family, as for why she wrote that I have no clue
It's crawfish season

That's all up to interpretation, and will vary with who is reading it.

It is hard to be this misguided without help from her parents, but StopLightObservation has assured us they're good people. Outspoken racists, but good people nonetheless.
I'm sure the parents had a hand in it. But my point is the school and church should not turn its back on this kid. That's the easy way out.

It would be difficult to write something that bad if you tried.
ETA: In fact, I'm pretty sure that entire paper would pass all grammar checks on your word processor. Perhaps this is a next level troll.
Now I am starting to think this girl is a future Pulitzer Prize winner and this was a giant effort to "promote dialogue on race" for which she will get an A. At least that is what I would say as her parents when they dragged us in front of the Principal. I would love to say that and watch the Principal's face when I called her "racist" for her reaction to my kid's paper.

I wanted to goto a school I knew people at? I don't see the problem in that. Congrats on your middle class home btw.

You can write your opinion as much as you want, just as long as you are willing to face the consequences.
She wrote her opinion in what I presume was supposed to be a private, high school assignment. That that assignment was leaked to the outside world, if it was not done by either herself or a classmate that she shared the paper with, is a violation of her academic expectation of privacy.
While the content of the paper is decidedly poor, both in syntax and intellectual analysis, I fail to see how anything in it warrants expulsion. A failing grade, certainly, but not expulsion.

Stop dude, just because she thinks one way doesn't mean her parents share the same views.

SMHS English department has been failing people for years. I went to a failing, predominantly black, public school, but ending a sentence in a preposition would still cost you a letter grade on a paper.

I'm doing just fine, where did you goto HS?

I laughed when I read the paper as well, it was awfully written. We get it

Her parents don't have much of a leg to stand on in this situation. This girl didn't develop this level of racism based on her "experiences."

Famous line from Designing Women (a TV show back in the day for you youngsters) by the Southern Belle character to a bunch of Yankees-
Southern Belle - "So, where y'all from?"
Yankee - "Hmph. We are from a place where you don't end sentences with prepositions."
Southern Belle - "Oh, sorry. So, where you from BITCH."

I had many black friends in HS, they were awesome people with awesome families who raised them right.
So y'all can come off your dang ivory tower, not all students or alumni of SMHS agree with what she said.
SMHS is trash. Sorry, bro. There's a reason the doctors and lawyers send their kids to U-High, CHS, SJA, Episcopal, and not SMHS. That's where the white trash and Livingston Parish residents send their kids.

It's like getting a 0 on a multiple choice standardized test - you have to know all the answers in order to get them all wrong. In time we'll appreciate that paper for the work of art that it is.
