Update: The police staging area has roughly 10-20 police cruisers currently stationed in the Target parking lot. This is significantly decreases from last night, but is a two to three times increase in police presence from the same time yesterday morning.

Tip: Emerson Electric Co. has sent out a security alert telling all employees to expect further demonstrations and to avoid using the West Florissant entrance of their campus when heading into and from work today. This is an extension of security precautions that were put into effect at roughly 3pm yesterday.

Nothing will happen until at least early afternoon. Hell, ESL isn't dangerous at 9AM.

So let me get this straight...every young black male killed in America is just an innocent babe in the woods, skipping and whistling on their way to grandma's house, amirite?

Remember, all inmates in prison are innocent.
If you ask them.

And there are no cops that ever break the law, abuse their power, and are then protected by other cops.

AnonioFrench is posting live vines from the protest right now: LINK The Fox2News helicopter was supposed to be headed towards the protest.

@AntontioFrench: Police say they will arrest people for violating the public demonstration ordinance. They could also write them a ticket, but not today. @rlippmannProtest organizer Zaki Baruti says he will be taking a delegation to meet w/ Bob McCulloch. Do not know if they will be received. /u/jandrewweb

Why doesn't Zaki schedule an appointment with Bob? Bob would have to make one with him. He's a Democrat and he's a politician.

I don't understand all the protesting and demanding of immediate action from the same people that refuse to help police solve a crime in their own neighborhood. It would be nice if the community organizers would rally for justice and do everything possible to help an investigation on a routine basis.

would hope the police version is a little more detailed than the age old "He went for my gun" because that's not going to hold water

Bias much? It's the one thing in the situation that could kill and end the struggle so it's the most common move that results in a death.

think "resisting arrest" is often a bullshite charge. If the police give me an order which is not based in law and I do not obey it, I'm not resisting or obstructing or interfering.

As you completely avoid the actual question of whether or not the police should be permitted to prohibit you from doing something that is otherwise lawful.

Yes. My street has sidewalks too. Does that mean I better tell them not to play/walk/ride on our street for fear of being shot by a cop?

quote:

would certainly advise people to tell the cop to frick off in a more polite way, but they're there to enforce the laws, not tell me how to live my life if I'm not breaking the law.

don't know that I agree with your premise in the first place but when the frick did walking in the street equate to a death sentence?

Do yall not have a law against impeding the flow of traffic? A spot I drive on my way home from work has 3 teenagers in the street all the time acting like fools and purposely staying in the road to make you slow down. If you do have this law, then why do you continue to say that a law wasn't broken? As a kid we played in the street as well, but we got our asses out of the way when someone was coming so we never got in trouble for it. Even if they had to slow down some, they knew we were trying to get out of the way. Since this story came out I keep picturing the three teens I pass walking in the road and looking at you and not moving until you have to stop almost, etc... and I can easily see why the cop would have told hiim to get out of the road, which is enforcing a law (if you have that law), and acted further on it if the kid didn't listen. That had nothing to do with him getting shot and we all know more happened after that.

I didn't say a law wasn't broken. I'm not sure that Canfield Drive is some busy thoroughfare that needs to be cleared of foot traffic on the reg, either.

Reedus23 has said it over and over again.

I think this statement of yours implied it. And while it may not be a heavily traveled road, it is still breaking the law to impede the traffic. The spot I was refering to is on a road with only 3 or 4 houses and hardly any traffic. It doesn't make it right to purposefully impede the flow.

Sidewalks are for walking....apparently this street had a sidewalk.
