From the only known facts at this point, that is what initiated the confrontation. The exact nature of the "struggle" is unknown at this point. Cops say he pushed into the cop car and tried to go for the cops gun. All of the witnesses apparently say that's a crock of shite.

In an ideal world of course there should be more, but in the eyes of the law that's the only defense needed. If they want to riot afterwards, that's on them, but they'll face the consequences. If they want change, the only thing they can to is vote for new elected officials and hope they make the right choices for you. This isnt the 60s where rioting like animals gets anything done.

I kinda think you're right. after watching some of the black witnesses talk about the scene, it would appear that the cop probably was in fact white.

i am curious about this. the witnesses don't seem to be talking about what, if anything, happened in the car
the cops' side is saying a shot went off in the car. that should be pretty easily proven or disproven
if it is proven a struggle ensued in the car and a shot was shot, then that hurts the kid's story in all honesty
