My whole gripe with how things were handled from the start was the over militarization of police. There is absolutely NO REASON to have armored vehicles on city street and cops carrying military grade hardware

Was that even the case in this? I've read a few pages of this and I thought a cop in a squad car shot a kid...

Did he roll up on the kid in a military tank and blast him with a laser guided missile?

She looks smart, she looks educated. What do you think the trash in ferguson going to do, when people like here have to think about whether they want to go to jail or not.

Gotta believe there well be a number who push back. I wonder what it does to the thugs that have been coming in from STL or ESL or wherever. Do they show up seeing it as a chance to fight the popo or do they stay away figuring it's not worth it.

See protester on CNN, having to really think about whether she is going to obey the curfew.

There's still 19 hours to protest. Not sure why they need midnight to 5.

I could have swore in one of Krumps interviews he said that the family had received the body and were having their own autopsy done

So all through the 60s/70s/80s/90s when riots took place and local PDs didn't have all of their military hardware, how did they survive and squash the protests

The other thing I don't get. You can't/don't make arrests from all that military hardware. If you want to go arrest those looters, all that military hardware ain't going to do you no good. You're still going to have to put boots on the ground and actually interact with the people to get to the looters.

I don't know that they did. I was asking. I thought I heard them saying they were going to get a second autopsy when they got the body back. Maybe they meant by the DOJ. Dunno.

Exactly... There is no reason for these departments to have that type of hardware.

Additionally, from multiple interviews I have heard

This

Violates ROE in the military... So our military isn't allowed to point a weapon at non citizens in war torn areas, but local cops playing war are allowed to point them at American Citizens

2 issues.

Was the cop shooting the kid justified.

The police response was to show up in tanks, riot gear and tear gas.

That's for "live" ammo, I haven't heard anything about rubber bullets or bean bags, etc.

Nah its 2Pac talking about black rage in rapping, and how they stood by as the civil rights movement asked nicely to have a seat at the table and was rejected, and then saying what do you expect us to do because we have already asked nicely.

I don't think they need to point their weapons at anyone who hasn't taken, at a bare minimum, a threatening posture.

So you're telling me that ALL of the officers on top of the carriers and carrying ARs that were photographed pointing weapons at protestors were loaded with rubber bullets?

2Pac has some great songs. A social theorist he was not.
