True. But it also doesn't mean he has.
I'm saying if the kid is who his parents are claiming he is (pure as the driven snow with no past record) I'd tend to believe him. Otherwise, why would a cop (allegedly) shoot 6 or 8 times at someone who's unarmed?
Conversely, if the kid has felonies why would anyone believe him?
Hopefully the investigation and any subsequent court proceedings will set the record straight.

OK, understood. IMO, the police have a thankless, dangerous job and deserve all the support, consideration and benefit of the doubt possible.
