SCS parents think they are the best people at everything. SFX could be much better with a real principal. Men's club there are a bunch of assholes. Maybe not all but definitely some older ones.

SCS is by far the best Catholic grammar school in Jefferson Parish and maybe the whole region.

Lol. Yes, I'm sure that's what they will tell you.

I don't care about any men's club. I'll pay my dues, but im not gonna be involved like that. That's the least of my worries.

If you are not going to be involved just send your kids to one of the many great public schools.

St Catherine's wants a certain type of student and if early on they don't meet that mold they dump them or don't try and help. I know so many people that have bailed on st Catherine's and moved to sfx and been much happier there

QFT... This in a nutshell....

There's quite a few kids in my kid's classes that bailed SCS and moved to SFX... Some from St Dominic's as well..

Basically Jesuit but at a grammar school level with girls...

Both my kids go there. SCS by a country mile. If you want your kid to get the best education K-7, do yourself a favor and do the research. No doubt, you will find that SCS will be the best.

St Ann is a good school. Better than SCS.

Based on what? As someone stated previously, elected officials send their kids to SCS. The principle of Jesuit drives past St Ann to send his kids there. St Ann is a good school but people in the know, know what's up.

I can see that some kids aren't comfortable at SCS because they need a smaller less competitive environment. One of my best friend has his kids at St Francis for those reasons.
I have met several families though who have transfered to SCS from St Dominic and other local school.

You def need to take the visits and ask around to figure out what will fit your kid.

This isn't St Martin we are talking about. LOL
It's not like it's hard to get into these schools.

How so? What I stated are facts. I also did a lot of research before picking SCS and I found they provided the best Catholic education in the area. They don't need to brain wash me when I see the work my kids bring home every day.

I recommend the OP do the research. Maybe SCS isn't the right school for his situation, but I know first hand what the school offers.

Does tuition count towards church giving, or is that a separate envelope?

Huh? What does that have to do with what school is better? I would assume they are in position to send their kids to whatever school they want. Why did those mentioned choose SCS? Why does the principle of Jesuit, who does not live in the SCS Parish, send his kids there? I'm not a fan of Jesuit HS but that does say something about the education you'll get.
