I agree with this, I have problems with waiting as a single on the courses around Baton Rouge sometimes, and I walk a good bit too. If I had to suggest something, if someone has waited around 2 holes on you to finish yours, let them through.

If a single is waiting behind me for 2 holes, and the hole in front of me is open, I'll gladly let him through. No way you're getting thru just so I have to wait on you though.

Oh absolutely, if you are waiting for the group in front of you as well or the single would just hold you up, then there's really no point in doing that.

Great time saving tip- wait until you arrive at the next tee to write down your group's scores

a few courses in my life have had a sign/notice requesting you fix your ballmark on the green and one other ... don't know why that's not mentioned at every course, cause it's a problem at every course ...

Fix ball marks, fill divots. Simple course etiquette. I usually tend to combine linear and the fatty group together.

Another tip for speed for carters, hop back in the cart with your club in hand. Put it back and grab next club when you get to next stop.

I've always noticed if I go out of my way to fix extra ball marks and do it consistently that whoever I'm paired up will start doing so as well.

I was fixing extra ones in Denver last week and another guy I was with started doing the same. We covered about 10 each green in addition to any we left.

Pull around to the back of the green. Walk straight to the cart with putter in hand and pull around to the next tee. Write score and put putter up, grab driver, tee off. If you pull behind the green, players behind you can hit much sooner.

What is the proper etiquette for responding to being hit into while on an obviously packed course?
I have always either hit the ball back at the guy or held the ball up to show it to the hitter then chunk it as far as I can into a lake/bayou/waterway or woods. Is this correct?

I was hit in the leg in a tournament last year. Screamed back don't ever fricking do that again. Guy pulled up, I threw my club down and headed toward him. He says don't scream at me, I show him where he hit me and tell him I'm about to whip his arse. He apologizes and leaves.

Actually my 6'7" good friend, but I didn't give a shite at the moment.

Am I really expected to be a groundskeeper on the range, too? I have no problem sanding my divots on the fairway or fixing my ball marks on the green. But I'm not giving a single frick on the range.

when I'm finished unloading my grocery cart after shopping, I usually take it and launch it through one of the front windows.

Am I really expected to put my cart back where it goes? I have no problem not knocking the shelves over like dominoes in the store. But, I'm not giving a single frick in the parking lot.

I guess pros don't have range etiquette, never seen any of them, including myself, do the "linear" shite.

Concentrated FTW

If you don't care about your bunkers and tee boxes, why should I care about your range?

Cool season grasses that are able to be seeded can be done by concentrated pattern. Still not as good. So if you see courses where divots are filled with sand/seed mix you'll see some concentrated patterns.

Hybrid bermuda seed is not viable and cannot be seeded for repair.

Not sure why linear is so much trouble.

This is what I don't understand. It's a good tip, has a real purpose to benefit the course and other golfers, and requires Zero additional effort. Is it just to act like a hard arse on the Internet? Obviously we all know it won't look exactly like OP, but damn.

So why is linear with that gap better than the same linear path, but connected? Is it not a waste of space to do it the way in the pic?

Honestly I see your point, but would it make a difference if the range is heavily used? Eventually people would hit between the gaps to avoid standing in a sanded/seeded area.

Some ranges are gonna get chewed up no matter what. Just too high of traffic.

A lot of courses with smaller range tees could definitely benefit from linear patterns. Not even from a regrowth stand point, but just efficient use of tee space. The gaps might eventually be hit off as well, but it'll take more golfers and more shots to use all the grass space with linear compared to others, especially scattered.

Scattered = good for regrowth
Concentrated = efficient use of space
Linear = efficient use of space and good for regrowth
