sounds like OP has sheltered and helicoptered the kid into oblivion

It's weird because he is asking this board a bunch of questions that his kid should know. He is saying that he know all of these details about NIL and scholarships, but has said that he's never even seen an NIL contract and has had no conversations with his son's agent. Very confusing.

He gave up the Ark opportunity to get a redshirt year at UF on scholarship. His NIL is $125/week…will double if profit sharing goes through…most he stands to make for the year is ~$20k with stipends. He may be able to get $6k more if he’s able to work a camp this summer, but that’s not looking good.

and getting weirder, OP has every right to be proud of his kid but unless he's unleashed an elaborate troll thread on us, the kid seems like a blubbering idiot, from what OP has posted, and OP seems to have pinned all hopes on his kid being an NFL kicker and checked out on parenting

And that’s even the sports law certificate at Tulane law school, not the undergrad degree

Made a D in pro sports law under esteemed Tulane professor Gary Roberts.

B+ in amateur sports law under associate dean Robert Clayton.

Bounced back from a terrible 2L year to make my only A- and some B/B+ in tough courses like successions and commercial law under Max Nathan.

That guy knew my father (RIP) and busted my balls for missing too many classes. He said I was going to fail the exam.

Checked out on parenting? Just because I didn’t beat my son over the head with books like my mom did to me does make me less of a parent. He’s the best kid at his position in the country. I’m not sure if you understand how much went into this by us and him. My son has a dream and we nurture it however we can.

All that is great but you have to be realistic. “You can be anything you want to be” is a BS lie.

I mean his son is a kicker at SEC school Seems like it's worked out to this point.

Also, sports administration/managment degrees are largely useless. It's a business degree with sports focus.

I majored in it at LSU. Here is the breakdown of most of my classmates 10 years later

1/4 professional athletes
1/4 college athletes that didn't make it professionally
1/4 people who bounced around various minor league ticket offices (the most common job these people get. They become account executives for professional sports teams and sell season tickets)
1/4 grad school

i knew I was going to law school before I stepped on a college campus, so I made the decision to have an easy, fun major that wouldn't bore me to death. Most non T14 law schools don't give a shite what your undergraduate major was, so neither did I.

I communicate as well as most random engineers who sit by themselves in a cube all day for 20+ years. I think I get my point across, most seem to disagree…I just think most people don’t understand.

time for you to crash and burn, or is it burn and crash. "I think I get my point across" conflicts terribly with "Most seem to disagree"

Yea, I need to craft a new persona. Maybe a white rapper critic.

Wax is a 44 yr old white rapper who…
