Well there were a lot of Jims so it was easier for the DS to call me Beam.

What are you a girl or something. I was called my last name all of high school. Hell some people thought my last name was my first. Take it as an honor if someone knows your last name.

A lot of my friends call me by my last name. I'm not sure why they do it (probably because I have a common first name and an uncommon last name), but it doesn't bother me at all.

In college we had a friend with the last name deike sounded like dyke. We'd go around campus if we saw him yelling 'DYKE'. One girl responded 'I'm not a dyke!'
