I think people have come to the knowledge that in spite of the 20yo AIDs campaign, a man's odds of contracting HIV from sexual contact with a non-IV drug using "status unknown" woman are pretty astronomical. I'm not exagerrating in saying that you can literally go through life raw-dogging every reasonably healthy looking woman in the western world (esp non-black women) and your chances of eventually contracting HIV would still remain well below that of developing heart disease or cancer, or dying in a car accident or fall.
Now other "contact" STDs are still a threat, though there are things that you can do to minimize risk of contraction there as well.

There's always nerves involved... but w/ her, she was just too loose, to be honest. I never thought I'd encounter a woman like that, but it was the truth. I think she eventually figured it out. Keep this thread going and some of your brethren will show up. I know of at least 2 other posters who made it a "once a year" thing at some point in their lives (5+ for each of 'em). Y'all may even have some ground to compare notes.

In the early 90's, after the Magic Johnson deal, I remember the 'scares' and fear tactics spread around. It worked on most of us, we thought we were all going to catch AIDS if we had sex with girls who weren't virgins
We always heard the false rumors of 19 of 25 blood donors at school having HIV. Of course this came from 'reliable sources', mostly parents trying to scare us. We skipped MANY chances at some good times. I guess the long term girlfriend was the payoff.

Well regardless of how you are judged here, I've only been to Vegas once and lost around 3 grand total at black jack tables. Banging a hot pornstar would've been more enjoyable.
