Marco is correct 1979-1980. I had that exact bike so verbatim, I almost wonder if it were mine that made it to BMX museum? They weren't factory built that way, it was an assemblage of custom blue parts. It took me almost two years to work and buy them all.

Remember the movie RAD?

I got a paper route when I was 12 so I could be like them. Miserable fricken job, but made enough to get a Diamondback with pegs, mag wheels, a rotor, a layback seat post.

A year or so later, one of my brother's friends borrowed it without permission and it got stolen while he had it. I'm still pissed off about that!

I left a 2500 dollar bike that was given to me by a sponsor in high school at a friends house. His little brother had no clue of the value, and left it somewhere. It was stolen too. I feel your pain.

Eta- I have RAD on DVD.. watch it all the time.

We were pretty poor so had the standard banana seat bike until I found a beat up used diamond back at a garage sale, had a bent frame and rim but I rode the heck out of it anyway.

If I would have had a nice bike it just would have been stolen anyways.

Seem to be a recurring theme, mine was stolen when I went into the service, my lil brother left it outside for 1 night and my Redline was lost
Years of enjoyment gone, would've love to have been there when that POS was taking it

I had a Diamond Back Strike Zone like this.

It got stolen while I was at a supermarket playing Ring King.

Then bought a Mongoose Decade like this one except it was blue.

Probably the best times of my life riding around with friends all day and night learning tricks and riding ramps at Dennis McCoy's house.

I had a Raleigh, but I always wanted a GT Pro Performer. Asked for it every year.

I am 42 y/o and I think that I would breakdown in tears if I finally received a GT Pro Performer for Christmas.

I had a blue GT Pro Performer. Got stolen from inside the LSU Union while I was playing pool. My heart was broken and it was a long sad walk back to Magnolia and Park.

I grew up in the 70's. We had to modify bikes to make them BMX bikes. It was awesome fun. Only a few concussions and broken fingers. Nothing major.

Trail 50

I still have mine. A 1970 Honda Mini Trail 50. We used to fold the handlebars down and put it in the back of the Buick Estate Wagon and go to the country. It is in my barn and it still runs. Bought from G.N. Gonzales.

Yup we built our own bmx bikes out of junkers. Only 1 kid in the neighborhood had a brand new bmx bike with mag wheels. That bike was the bike to have.

My first dirt bike I found in the garbage.
Brought it home and my grandfather raced motorcycles helped me rebuild the engine.
I still got that bike today and it still cranks.

Had a Mongoose back in the late 70's. Hardest bike to ride a wheelie on I ever had. The frame was kind of long. Cleary bike shop in Metairie was where we bought most of our stuff. Was nothing to wear out a cheap set of pedals and tires over the summer.
