Yeah Vivino’s ratings come from the general public so they’re pretty useless

Some alcoholics in this thread. I drink occasionally throughout the month but no way I’m getting over $100/month and even that is due to drinking at dinner on nights out.

That means different things to different people obviously but you are right. In my dealings you can't find a bottle of elite wine for less than a couple hundred dollars. I have found a "good" bottle of a spicy cabernet sauvignon for sixty bucks. I don't drink like I used too and when I do I drink the good stuff. Maybe the great stuff on anniversaries and what not. Once I tried a bottle of good wine it was impossible to enjoy a bottle of twenty dollar wine after that. You wouldn't think the difference is that large but it is.

Eh, I think you are FOS but that’s your prerogative to spend your dollars on wine if it’s suits your “wants” in life.

It isn't something I want at all actually. I mainly spend zero on alcohol. Just not my thing since I got married and had kids. The part about good wine being a lot more expensive I guess can be assigned as just my opinion I guess but in my opinion the more expensive wines do in fact taste not only better but even different than the cheap stuff. It's one reason I quit drinking outside of special occasions.
