only state name that would be acceptable and not trashy is Dakota.

Obviously Cowboyfan has a relative named Dakota.

So, where does she "dance"?

Hell no. Washington is trashy as hell for a first name.

Virginia is ok, but still borderline trashy.

Lillie? How are those names trashy?

When you spell it like that instead of Lily, it's trashy.

No relatives named Dakota. In fact, no relatives named anything remotely trashy. Just think it is more passable as a name than virtually any other state (save for Virginia).

And I will admit, Virginia had slipped my mind before it was mentioned.

ETA: Rose and Lily are ok, but by no other spelling.

Somewhat OT, I never understood the affinity for 17th century occupations as names: Cooper, Tanner, Hunter, Tyler, Carter, Fisher, Sawyer, Fletcher, Mason, Miller, Paige, Tucker, Piper, Porter, Ranger, Slater, Taylor, Turner, Walker, etc.

These are some pretty socially undesirable occupations, historically, yet they've become hip these days. It's cool to name your kid after a guy who makes barrels, or guts animals and dries their skin, not sure why "butcher" or "carpenter" haven't caught on as the newest trend.

You realize almost all of those started out as people naming their kids their mothers or grandmothers maiden name?

I agree, unless you are related to somebody with that last name those names are pretty trashy.
