My hand smells like perfume but my wife doesn't wear scents anymore. Should I ask her what this smell is or go wash my hands?

When I was a kid, we would have to accompany my dad on his produce route to New Orleans in the summer.
Dad never owned a truck with air conditioning or a radio so we always had the windows rolled down on our trip to the French Market. I always remembered the smell of coffee roasting near the Carrolton overpass.
That smell always brings me back to those days. It's like having a time machine.

Fresh baked bread.
Smoking meats
Garlic and onion browning in a black iron pot
Stew being made.
Good scotch. Smoky and peaty
That oxidized air smell after lightning.
