Honestly you deserve to have your insurance go up if you're driving that fast. You're a danger to yourself and others.

I have received three speeding tickets in LA since I moved here a few years back. Each parish allowed me to go on probation for a period of 90 days and pay a reduced fine... but I had to write the DA and ask for it. They won't grant it to you unless you send a written letter. None of them are on my record as a result.

While it depends on the parish, you could respectfully speak to the DA.

I got a ticket in Metarie, went to the court date on the ticket which was actually them asking if I wanted to plead guilty or speak with someone. Went back on the second day and they give you a number. Spoke to the DA and she said since it was my only offense, she let me off with a warning. I was polite the entire time. Worst you can do is ask.
