The hyperloop was a concept, who did he promise what to regarding that?

Oh that’s awesome
Now what about people who failed.
Pretty much everything is a concept to Musk. Whether he can or even wants to deliver is another story. He’s burning through cash like crazy

you miss 100% of the shots you dont take. i'd rather try and fail than never try at all.

know what makes a concept a reality? trying.

He’s burning through cash like crazy
at the end of the day, id rather see an ambitious man fail than a calculated and cautious man sit on the back burner and wonder about what might be.

He just finished the press conference and said a crewed Dragon capsule is the top priority now.

A supply boat with a giant net. You betta recognize!
It's actually an elegant solution. The rockets pretty much have to land themselves because of their size. Steerable parachutes were investigated, but the size and shape of the rockets made landing with a parachute and not damaging the rocket highly unlikely to work; more unlikely than landing it on a pillar of fire. The payload fairings, however, are perfectly suited to use steerable parachutes and that's precisely what they do. They just steer themselves into the giant net the claw on the boat holds open.

I hope these rambunctious rapscallions have shown you respect and regards.

When he first started SpaceX, everything he does now was science fiction. A private company started by one dude ends up with launch capabilities that not only large military contractors can't touch, but no nation on the planet can touch? Yeah, right. Reusable rockets? Get the frick outta here, crackpo
Huh? Jeff Bezos beat him to a successful landing of a reusable rocket by a month.
He's an entrepreneur who started a private space company with impeccable timing. The Columbia disaster happened less than a year into SpaceX's existence. Vertical takeoff, vertical landing has been a thing in space technology since the mid 90s.
Musk undoubtedly has the marketing down pat though.

I'm glad he's mastered the art of unmanned space flight. My only question is when does he plans to strap a man on top of one of his rockets? He doesn't seem to have the confidence to do that just yet.
Plan has been there all along. Dragon capsule is designed to carry both cargo and crew. That's the next big goal after Falcon Heavy.

So, has Starman had its final boost, or is it still in Earth orbit?
