Judge Dick's son?? Hahahah great example.

Still waiting on recent white male SULC graduates who have been hired by a decent defense firm. Anybody?

I met a defense lawyer once who supported tort reform. I still think I was getting trolled.

I've never been into the whole "I'm a lawyer" thing.

Only lawyers know being a lawyer is not all it's cracked up to be.

I only tell people I'm an attorney when I think it will make me sound more authoritative, or if I want to seem rich, or if I want to intimidate stupid people, or if I think it might get me laid, or if it's a day that ends in a y.

They dont want the system to go away they just want it "reformed" in their favor.

It's worked for me at the bar, but I made it a point to never bring it up. It was all I could do not to smile when she'd inevitably ask what I do for a living. I was also coaching a middle school basketball team at the time that I had no personal connection to so it was double shooting fish in a barrel.

One of my frat brothers graduated from Southern. Saw the writing on the wall about finding a decent job. So he applied and was accepted by the FBI. He says that he loves the job.

Man, that's low.

When I went to LSU Law, they would take your GPA, multiple it by 10, and add it to your LSAT score for a composite score. If your composite was 185 or higher, you usually were accepted without question. A 175-184 composite needed the help of letters of recommendation, etc.

The LSAT is weighed so much heavier than GPA (rightfully so.) A low LSAT score is tough to overcome.

You may make more than me, but, at the end of the day you are still the least respected type of attorney in our profession. You are the butt of every joke. You are the attorney that we make fun of when we get together. You are the attorney that everyone calls an ambulance chaser. You are a piece of shite.

Can't tell if troll or legit defense bar member. Either way whoever got the defense bar or their trolls working in this thread wins the internet today.

Went to law school with one who works for Jones Walker in BR. Not going to run his name out on TD.

Graduated with another 5-6 who went to Big Law firms but they did fit the diversity quota - but the 2 I have kept up with have done well for themselves and seem to be competent.
