Our local Southern Classic is a madhouse every hour it is open, so I'm not sure how this is going to work out. I also wonder how much chicken is going to roll out the door.

Both of our local Chinese places (one no longer has a buffet) had to crack down on to go orders from the buffets: people treating it like a shrimp buffet, leaving with pounds of shrimp OR overloading one buffet "to go" with enough food to feed the family.

I've only come across a few of these (Many and Alexandria I think), are they good? How does it compare to Canes, Popeyes?

They are always packed. The chicken is good. I've never eaten at Cane's so I cannot compare.

I thought they did to go by the pound to go after trash that do that?

KFC tried that years ago here in Shreveport, didn't last long. Classic doesn't have bathrooms for customers, where are customers going to sit for this buffet?

Both Shreveport locations near me, (E 70th and N. Market) are drive through only. So I'm not sure I buy the "every location" story.

Many and Mansfield both have dining rooms. I'm not sure about the new one in Bossier City on Airline.

Never heard of it until now. If it's so good and popular, why don't they open locations in any cities along I-10 where they could get a lot more business?

I've had some damn good chicken at many rural plate lunch type places that aren't a big franchise. So, I reserve judgement on Mama's and what appears to be 2 locations in Opelousas. I've never tried it.

As far as chain type places like Popeyes, Canes, Church's, etc. Southern Classic is the best.
