That's just now? Buddy of mine in Richmond got some big hail an hour ago.

I'm not far from Clear Lake.

Good news is that Houston should get a 12+ hour reprieve here soon. It's moving slowly to the east, but moving nonetheless.

It's really been pretty impressive to watch develop as it came across the Sabine.

That Friendswood gage/gauge is screwed up FWIW.

ETA - the reading was at 9:15 CDT, well before the heaviest stuff started there.

Friendswood did just get like 5 inches in 90 minutes though.

Powers out. Havent seen rain this intense since the thick of Harvey. Lightning is just outrageous with this storm

Woof. I remember being at Texas T Tavern when Harvey hit the night of the McGregor vs. Mayweather fight.

Eta: the street, the Ditch and the neighborhood flooded that night.

HPD is sending a high water rescue vehicle to East Interstate Highway 10 at Wayside. Reports about 40 people are trapped by flood waters.

The ML CAPE (how much the moist air wants to rise) was huge a couple of hours ago across SE TX. Good for lightning generation and very efficient rain production. Which, uh, is delivering for you Houston folks.

My radar app is just lightning bolts over everything east of Houston it's self.

No, probably not. The readings are progressively higher there. Use the link I posted earlier, maybe 1 or 2 pages ago at the top, to see 5 minute readings.

I rarely use lightning or storm tracks on RadarScope. Storm tracks are sketchy and lightning covers up the useful stuff.

Glad there isn't a strong shear profile tonight because that right turn when they split is a supercell kind of move.

ETA: I never have the storm tracks up anyway. Lightning a good indicator of where the best convection is bubbling.
