He's a straight-A student who scored a 29 on the ACT as an 8th grader. He's never had a discipline problem in his life, always yes sir/no sir. So yeah, I'm not too concerned about his behavior.

it's not even about that.
the kid rode the thing on the street, the cops showed up, told him not to do it. op apparently does nothing. kid does it again. cops show up again.
somehow it's cop or neighbor's fault that Braylen can't follow rules.

Two things can be true at the same time. The kid shouldn’t have been riding on the street after the first time the cops were called. And the neighbor that didn’t have anything better to do than to call the police on a kid for riding a four wheeler on the street is a busybody piece of shite.

Or...... the parents can say "look, Brayden. it's not legal to do that so, don't do that, ok?

quote:Yes, it is. Knobbed tires at medium to high speeds on asphalt are incredibly hard to predict. Sometimes they catch, sometimes they dont.
I mean, it’s not that damn dangerous.
The street bikes the young black folks ride are fine on the road as far as handling, they have a different set of problems and are highly illegal as well....but the average redneck with mud tires and a high center of gravity is a disaster waiting to happen on a road.
Oh, my 53 year old self could putt around on em and never have a problem, 13 year old me would be doing front cartwheels off of it.

Why are parents buying kids atv when they live in a residential neighborhood? Sure son, just go tear up someone’s lot as long as you don’t get caught

We don’t want to hear that shite out here either! Love when people want to move to rural areas “to get away from it all” and “enjoy the peace and quiet”. Then they put little Jaxxon on a loud arse four wheeler so he can pretend to play motocross. frick that. Ride that thing when you have a reason to (chores, hunting), not because it’s a form of entertainment for your kid.
Buy him a golf cart. At least it’s quiet.
Buy a condo in the city, you don't belong out here.

quote:i think a big thing here is people don't understand that the areas they did this stuff in in the 70s and 80s have like 5x the population and vehicle traffic now. it's not a sleepy little new (and probably undeveloped) exurb anymore. it's not the same and never will be.

this can be said for a lot of areas in BR, AP, LP, St Tammany, and probably a lot of other parishes that I'm less familiar with.

GFYS tough guy. I was "out here" before you. I don't care what you and your camouflaged buddies shoot or for how long. Long as you don't shoot across my property lines.
And don't worry. I won't call the cops. I'll just drive and over and address you directly.

I had two kids I know in middle and high school pass away from riding four wheeler's. I don't remember if they were supervised or not. The kid in middle school was not riding a helmet iirc.
In short yeah they can be dangerous especially doing stupid stuff that teens will inevitably do.

Urban, rural, suburban, it doesn't matter. Most people don't want to hear that shite. Most people who live out in the sticks do so because they want peace and quiet.
Go frick yourself

1) there are few exceptions (farm eq with escort) but vehicles traveling on public roads need to be road rated and by licensed driver
2) unless u own the wooded area he is riding on, you should also be concerned you can be hit with property damage suit. Property owner can claim ruts and other damage as well as trespassing charges.
