Times Square bathroom tip. Go to the McDonalds and buy something cheap.. The receipt has a code on it for their bathroom.
Not sure what kind of situation they have for NYE, but this is handy in more sane times.

Don’t think that works because they basically cordon off the pens as they fill. You essentially can’t leave once you’re in place.

Practically every major food establishment has this in Times Square.
Also, there's no such thing as a bathroom break in Times Square during new years
