This virus is engineered by humans, so I'm hesitant to hang my hat on this, but a typical virus will almost always mutate into a weaker version of itself. Perhaps more transmissible, but weaker.

It is common knowledge. I read an article on pflizer yesterday tweaking their shot to the variants (there are multiple). Not sure why you are being aggressive for. A quick Google search can answer your question.

I'm not.
I'm seriously wondering why this isn't the main focus on stories about what's going on right now? I honestly have seen nothing about it and I don't think I'm the most uninformed person in the world.

I hear a lot about boosters. It’s all over the news. But I’ve not heard anything mentioned about the booster being anything other than a third shot of the same Alpha vaccine.

I watched a portion of the FDA’s panel meeting. The booster is about the possibility of waning efficacy. But they couldn’t prove that an uptick in cases wasn’t due to the prevalence of delta and how easily it has spread. The truth is that the vaccines are still working plenty well enough to keep the majority of people out of the hospital. The booster is being pushed mostly by the drug companies in order to continue to milk that fat cow that is easy checks from the government.

Right but the booster they are advocating for and trying to get approved now is the current formula. There’s no data to prove that it even needs to be changed for delta. They just want more money.

And we are having an internal debate within the US on if we should supply vaccines to 3rd world countries. On one hand, why should we fund those guys? On the other, variants are a thing because some countries do not have access to vaccines and are acting as a breeding ground. Of course no European will help.
