Someone has an old credit card of mine

The account is still active but the number is changed. I’ve been assured by Capital One that they can’t do anything with the old number but I keep getting emails saying that charges were declined by them after the old number was attempted to be used.
Is there any way for whoever has that number to gain access to other cards I have? I’m not a trashy piece of shite so my knowledge on how to be a dick is limited.

If you called Cap One, I’d say you’ve done all you can do.

If it’s possible to access your active CC using nothing more than an old card #, it’s time to get the hell away from Cap One.

I'm wondering how many times this mental giant is going to try to use the card.
OT should try to bait him and get him busted.

Depending on your credit situation, I'd consider closing the account and opening a new one for the peace of mind.
That being said, it's incredibly unlikely to ever cost you money in the current situation.

Happened to me. I called my bank and they canceled the card. She told me they are suppose to when you get a new card, but people get lazy.

Most likely there are multiple authentication questions they ask if the fraudster tried to call in and it’s very unlikely they will call and unlikely they could pass all the verification questions.
Why the hell didn’t capital one drop the account as soon as you called? They can close it and any transaction they attempt after that will say card reported lost or stolen.
