I too travel a ton for work. I learned the hard way about how hotel managers "walk" a guest. Basically they over book based on the average percent cancels. Single and one night guest are typically the first to go.

No. The not locking the door part is. Just a wild move in a hotel.

I always lock the security latch when I’m going to sleep.
The only time someone walked in on me was in Italy when there wasn’t a latch on the door. I’m pretty sure it was just the cleaning lady though. She quickly left.

The only place shite like this happens is in really crappy motels.
So either you’re full of shite, or you’re really poor. Either way, you suck at life.

Well I don't pay for the hotel rooms, so I don't know how you can deduct my personal wealth from this.

Not sure why so many downvotes for your question. Solid question, and it's hard to "know" what to look for.
Not sure your degree or studiesor likes, but like the OP responded...Tech Sales will have you traveling. Regional then National. Some companies though have you starting off on their inside sales lines which would most likely be in office HQs. Software sales would be simialiar.
If you dont like Sales, like me, and more tech/ops/support savvy then look at Implementation as a key word in your searches. Essentialy you know the product, and you go in and set up what was sold to the customer. Initial training etc. Acct specific Support is still being done by some companies, but not the same level as it use to be. Which isnt the best for the customer as much as the company. Look for 'Professional Services' teams, etc.
Sales is more fun and more traveling, but there are implementation folks that are good at what they do that are traveling 3 of the 4 weeks of the month.
Just depends on what you like man. Good luck.

A maid tried to come into my room last week when I was in Columbus, GA. I said "HELLO?!"
She apologized, and said that the room was marked vacant.

I was in Stockholm and a sexy Swedish girl accidentally entered my hotel room at midnight. She saw me, smiled, and then had her way with me.
Then I woke up and realized I was still in Louisiana.

I travel around 225 nights per year for work, so I'm accustomed to hotel living.
I was talking to an older gentleman at work that said he is now staying at AirBNBs near the office when he comes in. He's traveled a ton for almost 30 yrs. Been the top level of airlines/hotels, and realized that he's traveled to all these places and never really enjoyed them. When ever he travels now he thinks if he would like to experience that "area," and looks for an AirBNB close to where he is going going to be.
He said he has more points on plenty of airlines, and hotels at this point it doesnt matter.
Just wondering if you, as someone that travels so much, has thought the same. Idk if you are "there" yet, but wondering.

Good advice. I don't see a ton of "implementation specialist" in my field but I know they exist. It's not for everyone, but one good thing about it is you can make pretty good money in most fields. For instance, if you enjoy basketball, you can find good sales jobs in that industry that pay well.

Airbnb is developing a points system, and the minute they do, I'll switch over. I have a lot of credit card points, but it's nice to be able to take my fiance on "free" vacations. I don't have enough CC points to be able to pay for everything so Ill stick with the hotels for now.

He ain’t paying for shite and he’s probably racking up miles and points for personal vacations.
If he learned how to lock a door, he’d be winning.

If you keep traveling, it’ll add up. My FIL bought 2 round trip business class tickets to London with points and barely made a dent in his balance. Every rental car he gets is the top of the line usually with at least 1-3 free days. Hilton bends over backwards at every juncture. Traveling for 30+ years on the company dime has a lot of perks.

Similar thing happened to a newly divorced coworker of mine a few weeks ago. He had a new lady friend with him and they were staying in a hotel in the Galleria for the weekend. He said it was middle of the day on Friday(he took a vacation day that Friday) and he was in the middle of doing the deed when a family of 4 with young kids opens the door to his room while he is balls deep. He said the all just stared at each other in disbelief until the family turned around and walked out. His lady friend was so mortified she got dressed and took off leaving him with the hotel room alone for the rest of the weekend. He called the front desk all pissed off and a little while later the desk girl, realized she made the mistake of double booking his room, came up to his room to offer him a free breakfast the next morning.

I was doing a conference at the Marriott in downtown Dallas with a group of friends several years ago. One of my friends broke up with his lady, who was also going to the conference, one month before. Apparently she was bat shite crazy, not happy, and had been stalking him for a month straight. We were all at the conference and it was awkward tension between the two. My buddy told me on the second day he was up at 5 AM and was drinking coffee in his room. He heard something at his room door. He thought it was the newspaper but then he heard it again. He walked quietly to the door and looked in the door peep hole. His ex G/F was laying on the ground looking under his door. My buddy immediately turned the dead bolt lock making a noise. She quickly stood up and ran down the hallway.

No more Red Roof Inn for you, I guess.

Yea I try to go on 2 per year. My CC points pays for both of our flights and quite a bit of our meals. I'm not great at maximizing the points though. I just use my AMEX, and while it's not the best for rewards, their concierge service is a must have for me. I should probably get like 4 cards but I'm too lazy.
