I was disappointed to hear Brewbachers shut down their location in Abbeville.

Does Carly's husband work for this tech company too?

Our council is worthless.

-Pushed through the new sales tax districts at the last meeting of outgoing council members in December. Some members did not even know the details of the plan even though it had been forming behind closed doors with developers for years. That tax money goes to developers.
( you can find the maps to avoid higher sales taxes here)

(Also, the guy that opened the new BBQ place in Lafayette stood in front of the council and fought for it and then proceeded to build his new restaurant outside of those districts)

-All of these hip loft projects ( link).

This may be a good economic move for Lafayette but to think a bunch of San Francisco people relocating to south Louisiana just makes me laugh.
Somebody ought to give each one of them an LSU shirt and see what happens the first time they start strolling around town !

I've been seeing more homeless people begging on my side of town already, so the San Fran transplants may feel more at home.

There's a ceiling on how many businesses you can pay to live here.

Are these remote jobs that will allow their employees to work anywhere in the world but report their office as Laffy?

Buying a house in River Ranch for less than it cost to rent a 1BR apt in SF should make them feel a little better.

Gotta imagine this is a real kick in the nuts for the employees who were hoping the exodus would take them to Austin, Raleigh, or Dallas.

Ain't no way the good FTE are relocating

They’ll be thrilled in The Raunch until they notice the shoddy construction.

That was a big waste of tax payer money.

Has the Kopter project that replaced it ever gotten going in that building?

I googled it, but it looks like Kopter got acquired by an Italian helicopter MFG called Leonardo last year and Leonardo was planning to use the facility, but no other online updates besides that

I interviewed there recently but wasn’t quite woke enough I guess. Glad to see some diverse jobs coming into town though.

I'm cynical about them, there are numerous other companies in the market and their business strategy has generally been focused on "equity" and an assortment of very "woke" programs, as opposed to offering the best product.

Something is suspicious about this move. Guessing they lost contracts in California and Louisiana is the market they have had the most success in since the leadership at a lot of the charter schools are mostly suckers.

At an average salary of $74k though? That might be a little low to be buying over priced RR houses

I do business with them. They bought out a local company called Smart Choice and have operated their office for a year or two. They recruit a lot of entry level engineers from ULL and LSU.

They acquired a local company last year. I guess they are done with their other products and focusing on this one.

I've yet to see any activity there and there is zero equipment in their lot.
