So I just get a phone call and voicemail from some automated recording that says I am being turned over to federal authorities if I don’t contact the social security administration.

Anybody else get these voicemails before? I’ve also gotten one a while saying they were from the IRS.

Should I take these seriously?

Nb4 you’re fricked

They will not call you, they will send you a letter. I love fricking with these people that call. I'll follow along for a good 10 minutes and then gut them.

Yes, I get them all the time. I have even called the SS administration. They will never contact you by email or phone. Its the same with the Treasury and IRS. They will never call you. It will be correspondence by mail. Turn in the number to the FBI phishing division.

What number did they give you to call?

I just recently swapped to Tmobile (fantastic service btw) and the number was recent held by a AA female. I get all kinds of scam calls. I have no clue how they target this demographic.

Neither one of them will contact you by phone. They do all correspondence by mail. If you have doubts call the numbers listed on their websites, not the one the scammers leave for you.

I love the Microsoft Windows calls. They're my favorite.

No IRS or SS calls, but lately Heather (with account services) has got it bad for me. At least twice a day for the last week.

Wonder what she looks like...

They use robocallers from Mexico and other places outside the US and have a spoofer on the caller ID, so they look like local phone numbers.

I use an app called Sync.me that uses crowd sourcing to identify scam numbers and allows me to block the numbers, too. I still get one or two a week because the robocallers are randomly generating numbers to call, but it's cut down on it significantly.

These were all my thoughts too. I assumed it was scam but wanted to make sure.
