quote:Hate to tell you this, but we're more than halfway there already, on a macro level. Not talking about you or I personally, but the economy as a whole has taken a pretty savage hit. The longer we turn our head to that, the worse it's going to be. It's like people hear that, and they're so flippant about it. It's like a dad lecturing his teenage daughter about spending money that she thinks is coming from a limitless bank account, and she's rolling her eyes as he's trying to explain the concept to her that it's not limitless.
No, we don't have to go into financial ruin to save lives

quote:Right. It's completely glossed over when brought up, as though it's not an important point. It is THE point to consider right now. It is what exists now, and will exist long after this virus comes and goes.

That’s not a claim that it was here in January... that is a fact. And case numbers are directly correlated with testing, the more people tested, the more positive cases.

The point is that Lung cancer is controllable just like my decision to or not to social distance, or wear a mask, or gloves or shelter in place.
Wanna reduce your chances of getting lung cancer? Don’t smoke.
Wanna reduce your chances of getting covid? Shelter in place
Both are under your control and you don’t need the government to tell you
