I hear that. When my son was only 2 months old, my wife had to go back to the hospital for 2 days. I had to stay home with him. It was only a 2 month old, but it does get tiring.

Some complain about getting up early to get their kids off to school...uhm working parents do the same but usually earlier

Somehow my wife and I get all of that done while working full time
Oh the humanity.

My hostility towards the SAHM population stems from their attitudes of superiority. I'm also in the service and anyone that has been to an FRG meeting or dealt with the dependapotumus's of their subordinates will share in this disdain.

That is where I will take the income hit. I don't want to have to do all that stuff. I want to go to work, come home, then enjoy my time with my son. All the picking them up early due to illness, etc.. does not look appealing as I am sure you have to rotate at some point to ensure both keep a job

If it takes someone 14 hours a week to keep a house clean and they aren't handicapped they need to not reproduce such terrible genes into the world.

No. No they don't. You wanna stay at home, more power to ya. But don't act like you are now Mother Theresa because you made that choice.
Shocker. Another post judging mothers when you are tone yourself. Stay at home moms and working mothers are both hard working individuals. I can see where stay at one moms may feel unappreciated as it would be easy for both the husband and wife to fall into that cycle. Being a mother is by far the hardest, most selfless, amazing, rewarding role I could ever ask for.

Shocker, you clearly didn't read my posts. I don't have an issue with moms that stay at home, I have an issue with SAHMs who think they deserve an award for making that choice.
Nowhere did I say in my posts that being a mother isn't hard. Please show me where I posted that in this thread. Oh yeah...you can't.

This is as lame as the teachers whining about how underpaid they are.

Since I'm a stay at home dad, shouldn't I get more than a stay at home mom since men get paid more?
Seriously though, being a stay at home parent is pretty damn easy. It was more involved when I had younger kids, but now that they are in school the biggest problem for me is lack of adult interaction. It is certainly a lot less stressful than my previous job. I was a research chemist in the aerospace and weapons industry. Honestly, the only reason I haven't gone back to work is because my wife gets an enormous amount of vacation and we travel a lot. I drop the kids off at school, straighten up, wash the clothes, pick the kids up, and cook a nice dinner. If I'm not too "tired", I try to fit in a work out, a little tennis, and lunch with my friends. I'm certainly not complaining, and my wife is happy she doesn't have to do anything around the house. I even have a maid, a landscaper, and a pool service.

Yeah, you should.
Your life sounds great, plus in addition to your pool service, maid, and landscaper, your wife has somebody taking care of business downtown, ifyouknowwhatImean.

Where is the study calculating the "true" salary the Dad deserves?
He works all day, cuts grass, fixes up shite, might help cook and do other mom chores, take out trash, take care the the dog and somehow find time to have a beer.

What exactly does the maid do? Is she like a Seinfeld maid?
