More like I know there’s ton of people on here who would also be close to the situation. Can get a much better feel for the seriousness through here than anywhere else.

Well I’m 2.5 hours away, so I got plenty of time to post an drive friend.

Unless you have a self driving vehicle, you being worried about your wife and posting about it on here while driving seems pretty safe...

True...there were reports of the Hard Rock collapse with details here before it ever hit local news or even twitter.

So all joking aside, I’m in Lafayette today. Best I can do for her right now is get her info....

Things like

- it’s your building
- it’s another building
- it’s 1 guy
- it’s MS13
- it’s whatever

can be very helpful.

And TD has eyes and ears everywhere.

I work across the street. We were on lockdown but now hearing that it wasn’t an active shooter. Pan Am back up and running.

Still no confirmation on what happened.

It's construction. NOPD also confirmed.

Was mistaken for gunshots.

There's no shooter. Nail gun alarmed people during construction and the police were called to the scene.

I’ll never own a self driving vehicle.

Can you imagine obeying every single traffic law to a T?

Society is going to grind to a halt when those things hit the streets.

My first comment was really making light of the situation. I get he is more nervous about what is happening and probably looking for things to lessen the worry.

I had a kid who was on lockdown where a possible shooter became an actual shooter of two students at his school. It is nerve racking and the lack of knowing what is happening causes anxiety. I didn't choose to come here myself because the thought never crossed my mind to come here.

I don't disagree with what you said, and maybe my joke was a little much.
