if we just stop testing, wont the positives go to zero?

You think hospitals are going to stop testing people that come in sick?
Plus nursing home residents are tested weekly & he had said something about testing staff twice a week

No, because you can’t force doctors in hospitals to stop testing. % positive would go through the roof.
The real answer is for everyone to start getting tested for no reason. And since they don’t remove duplicates from their % positive calculation, go back for 10 more tests if it comes back negative.
Unfortunately this isn’t realistic so we’re fricked.

Not to mention the fact that he’d just move the goalposts again.
By my reckoning, we’re on around Day 175 of 15 Days to Flatten the Curve.

I wonder how they determine how many people produced it? Are they harvesting our DNA too?

That's sucks man. How old is he? I was practically raised by my paw paw but luckily he never had to go into a nursing home. That's pretty brutal to be elderly and isolated from your family like that.

I wish people would stop testing and going to the doctor for mild symptoms. There’s no cure or treatment. If you’re sick, stay home. AIDS is deadlier and no one is locked up because of it.

Wait, I thought it was 5% of a parish’s population. What kind of bullshite is 5% of people taking Covid tests?

That’s why test volume is a gate too
Volume of tests
Percent positive
Percent of population positive
You can game 1-2 but not all 3.
Not arguing agree or disagree - simply laying out the method used

He’s 94
He gets special privileges like leaving his room to exercise by walking up & down the hall (pretty sure he’s the only one on his hall not in a wheelchair)
He’s also 100% in his right mind so he can tell us if there’s any issue
Early 2019 asked to go because he thought us cooking / cleaning house / shopping / taking out the garbage was too much of a burden
A few months ago he admitted that he never thought he would still be around, if he had he would have never asked to go
I feel really bad for those that don’t understand why their families quit visiting or have no real way to communicate
I did do a quick window visit one afternoon & met an older man bawling his eyes out at his wife’s window
It’s gut wrenching

That sucks, man. I'm on the other side, having been hospitalized since June 10, and I have not seen anyone other than a hospital worker since then (some of you might remember me posting early on). What started out as a surgery for a failed mesh in my stomach (hernia) turned into pneumonia, then a perforation of my bowels caused an infection which knocked out my kidneys (still on dialysis). Throw in a couple of bleeding episodes (several stomach surgeries + many blood transfusions), and I was in ICU for ten weeks. It's been a week since I have been moved into a step-down unit, and I can finally speak and post online. I still have a long way to go before I can go home (goal is to be able to vote in person; if I have to drag my @$$ there, i will), but damn, 183 days without seeing anyone? It's lonely AF here, but I know I'm going to leave here at some point. I can't imagine not being able to see anyone, knowing that I will never leave that place. My concern now is being able to keep my job; my career will take a major hit if I lose it due to health issues. Anyway, I think we need to open it up; I agreed with the shutdown when there were too many unknowns. Now there is constant falsifying of information, moving the goalposts, telling bald face lies (and the cucks eat it up like gospel), etc. This will go on far beyond the elecetion; I will be happy to be wrong and eat my crow (and get downvoted to hell) but me thinks it's gonna go beyond that. My grammar sucks, but IDGAF.

Holy hell
I have so many questions
How old are you?
Married? Kids?
I cannot imagine being in a hospital that long

My paw paw died 2 days before his 99th birthday. He still drove until 94 or so but I understand where you are coming from. Mine had to have in home sitters his last 3 years but was totally lucid.
Spend as much time as you can with him. You'll always remember it and will never get it back.

Man, if you don't get to keep your job, make sure and let this board know
I'm not personally in a position to do anything, but I've seen this place work some miracles.
I genuinely hope you get out soon and make a full recovery. That is a miserable experience that I can't even imagine.

If we all test positive we have a 100%. We done. (I know that won’t happen but it pretty much only kills people with 2+ comorbidities so if we get the infection rate up high enough 1) death rate drops like stone. 2) high risk people can stay the frick home or buy a bubble. 3) I’m not super excited about a covid vaccine they mandate and slapped together in 11 months when they have never succeeded in doing one before.
I’m actively seeking this bitch. Give it to me. Let’s see what the frick this is about.
Edit: upvoted my own post. Cause I agree.
