I have almost all of my vintage toy train collection at my office. The ones not in storage are displayed behind glass and I've never had an issue.
But, my secretary knows that touching my trains is not permitted.

If you rebuild them, post pictures of the before and after.
To the guy who suggested a feather duster, save that for your SO to use on your balls.
A high dollar thick mascara brush is the perfect duster.

Invest in some display cases, maybe from Ikea. Do some research into star wars helmets and how people display them

Based off the subject line I was expecting some sort of body secretion. Did they defecate on them too?

The Nazi and Jap planes are undamaged. Your cleaning people are fascists.

You should get more than $300, IMO. It’s the time it took to assemble everything that should be taken into account as well.

I keep waiting for the maids to knock over my guitar stands with my builds and come home to broken headstocks, but it hasn’t happened yet, thankfully.

I would be pissed.

Our account rep just came by my office and they’re coming to stoke me a check apparently.

Darth, you're going to have to frick the Portugese cleaning lady on your desk to recoup your losses.

Perfect. That’s what this hobby is for. I build and give to my nephews. They destroy them immediately.

Charge them $25 hr labor, for avg estimated completion time, plus kit cost for each broken model.

that’s good that they’re owning up, won’t fully reimburse you for the work you’ve put into it and the work ahead of you, good luck

That sucks. All that work down the drain.

That sucks, Darth. The fact that those who did it probably view them as "just toys" doesn't make it much better.
I have an idea, though. After you get over this, use it as an opportunity. Salvage all the parts, put them away together, and when you reach the point of getting bogged down use the broken remains to do crash scenes/dioramas. Hell, the hardest part (destroying a build) has been done for you. You'd be able to stretch your legs on a different type of model building and try out some new techniques.
Silver linings never hurt, even if they don't alleviate the suckage.
