So AT&T is terrible. So crooked.

Stay with me.
I've been on an iPhone upgrade schedule since 2009 or so. I pay $300 for the phone on the upgrade knowing it is a $700 phone and over 2 years they cook in the $400 for the subsidy in my bill.
Now they have abandoned that model. Now they have gone to the per month model for a phone at $35/month or so but want to leave your previous bill as is with that on top.
Isn't that buying one and a half half phones?

Do you also have problems with data overages when you know dang well that you hadn't been on the Internet that much too?.. I have 15 gigs and I don't watch that many videos or anything and every month they send me a message saying my data has been used up. So frustrating.

So cooking in a price for a subsidized phone and then keeping that price in place when the consumer is buying the phone outright is awesome.

Just trust me and don't switch to sprint (unlimited data), coverage sucks. Verizon has the best coverage (what I had) but the data limits made me change with 2 teens on my plan.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, the cell phone industry is an out of control racket that will never be put under control. If you're the only one on the plan go Verizon and just pay the money, you'll at least get what you pay for within $20-30 a month vs AT&T

They give you a discount per month. My phone bill has never been cheaper. The discount is worth $600 per contract.

It depends where you live. I've had Sprint for a long time and my service has been fine. They're also doing these monthly payment plans, I think everyone is, actually

I guess the carriers enjoy this confusion.
Let me see how clear I can make this:
Me pay less for phone than phone cost in past. AT&T make money back over two years. Me want new phone and AT&T want me pay full price for new phone while still get money for old phone no exist.

I bought my phone outright this time, bill never went down.
