Well I didn't just walk out my hotel room and start skiing. Also at lunch time everyone is in their boots eating.

They have a nice Mardi Gras party in Breckenridge. Good vide and lots of peeps from Louisiana.

Snow in New Orleans is such a rarity I don't see how you can plan a holiday around it.

Huge Nola contingency in Aspen for Mardi Gras.
While it is expensive as compared to other places, it is a very nice mountain to ski. Snowmass is very good and huge. If you want something that is more economical to get to and stay in, check out Snowbird/Alta in SLC, UT. Direct flight out of MSY on Delta.
